Community of Learners 2
Historical/Cultural Context Made Easy
This
site is an ongoing work in progress of Community of learners
2 of the 2001 Governor's Institute for Arts Educators. The
thrust of this community is twofold. One is to create a
community web page idea bank of strategies for addressing
historical and cultural contexts in a content area's
curriculum. The other is to create and publish a collection
of planned instruction examples designed by the
participants. Members
work independently or with others to complete the learning
activities. These activities are intended to prepare members
to create content to contribute to a community web page of
strategies and methods, resources located, processes for
using the resources, and an outline of and reflections on
how to involve students in the uses of these resources to
demonstrate achievement of the standards statements under PA
Arts Standards Category 9.2, Historical and Cultural
Contexts. Individual instructional plans will provide
specific examples of process and use some of the resources
located.
